Joe Plumber

October 15, 2008

Joe Plumber might be the most famous person in America (the country…not the band) right now.

Here’s a video that includes the interchange between him and Obama that was mentioned in the debate:

In case you missed what Obama said, here it is:

“It’s not that I want to punish your success, I just want to make sure that everybody that is behind you, that they have a chance for success too. I think that when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”

Now, maybe you don’t understand it…but that comment is real life proof that Barack Obama is a socialist. What he described is redistribution of wealth. I’m not sure about you, but I don’t want my wealth redistributed! And frankly, I don’t want someone else’s wealth redistributed to me. I don’t need nor do I want a hand-out, especially not from Barack Obama. I wouldn’t let that man throw water on me if I was on fire.

Now let me give you some facts about Barry’s tax plan:

He claims that he is cutting taxes for 95% of “working” Americans. That term always confuses me…because technically he makes no distinction between people who have jobs and those who don’t in his tax plan. It’s just more rhetoric. Imagine that.

But that’s not the really interesting part, it’s that 1/3 of Americans don’t even pay ANY taxes. That’s right…NONE. So how are 95% of ALL Americans getting a tax break then? Because please take note, he did not say that 95% of TAXPAYERS will get a break…it’s 95% of all AMERICANS…that means that people who aren’t paying into the tax system are going to get a break. So how does that even work?

Well, that’s where redistribution of wealth comes into to play. That 5% of Americans that won’t be seeing any tax relief will be responsible for assuming the burden of paying for the tax break to the rest of the country. Not only will they not be seeing a break themselves, they will see their taxes increase. And it’s all because Barack Obama has decided that they need to “spread the wealth around.”

So that hard-working 5% of people (which includes many small businesses) will basically be handing over their money to the federal government, and they will be handing it over to people who didn’t pay one dime into the tax system, yet they will receive a check from the government. Money they have no right to, because they did nothing to earn it. That’s called redistribution wealth…and it’s also a key piece of socialism.

And this is the plan that Barack Obama proposes for our country.

And let me tell you something else, for anyone out there who may be thinking that socialism sounds like a grand idea…it doesn’t work. You cannot put the burden of supporting a country of people onto the shoulders of a few. They will take their money, they will take their business and they will take their jobs elsewhere, and then what will we do?

Well that’s when things collapse.

Do you know what other countries adhere to such policies? China…Cuba…North Korea….

They’re countries filled with good people…just like the United States is filled with good people. But the best of who they are is stifled…they aren’t free to live the kind of life that we should all be free to live. People talk about injustice within the United States…a place where there is more tolerance than probably any other country on the face of this earth. A place that people, sometimes literally, are dying to get into. The real injustice lies within countries like China and Cuba and North Korea, where good people like you and me have their lives dictated by a government.

And people like Barack Obama want to put the United States on a waiting list for the same damn thing.

I’m mad as hell about it, and you should be too.
