Did you call in ‘Gay’ today?

December 10, 2008

Today is national “Day Without a Gay” day!

If you’re gay you’re being encouraged to take the day off work and are urged to follow these five guidelines in order to prove how important homosexuals are to the workforce and to the economy:

1. Volunteer your time and services after work
2. Do not buy anything
3. Do not watch TV or use your cell phone
4. Do not go online… Online advertising is everywhere and a simple page load could cause money to be spent.
5. Do not buy lunch (and don’t go out today to get what you need for lunch tomorrow), find something you already have and pack your lunch.

I’m not sure whether I should laugh at the ridiculousness of this entire idea….or vomit all over the audacity of these people, to think that they are THAT important.

We’re living in a country where people are losing their jobs…people are fearful about the economy…we’re about to swear in a president that has virtually no executive experience…we’re in a weird time…people are just worried in general.

And what do certain gay people do? Take a day off…to prove their importance. Get over yourselves…that’s all I have to say.
