What gives you the right…

February 8, 2009

What is wrong with people to commit domestic abuse?

What goes through a person’s brain (obviously a very tiny one) that makes them think it’s ok to lift a hand and harm another person? Someone they supposedly care about no less!

When the fulfillment of your sick desire to show that you’re in charge puts someone in the hospital, I think the gloves should come off.

These people get away with it far too often.

There are currently a couple of people on this planet right now that I wouldn’t feel bad about eliminating.

Does that make me a bad person?

I don’t know.

I just know I’m tired of fearing that the next time I’ll be finding out that someone wasn’t just sent to the hospital, but that they’re dead.

And for what? Because someone had to get the ultimate power trip.

Insanity.

The curious thing is that abused individual (sometimes even a guy) will not leave. They are dedicated to taking it…never realizing that there is a point of no return. In my Air Force career…we had a case where a young female NCO was beat fairly well by the husband. She wouldn’t report the guy…not to the SP’s, the mental health guys, no one. So we said fine…and a captain who worked with us….went over to visit this husband (another NCO) on base…and carried a baseball with him. He laid out a simple rule…the next time she came into the office with any bruise on her…he would come back and lay into this husband with the bat. From that point on….at least while they were at that base…the husband was very careful about everything. Its silly to have to play this game….but these not normal folks that we are talking about.
