Think I’m gonna start living under Shar’ia law

March 18, 2009

It sounds super fun.

Like in these countries: Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen (just to name a few) where the act of sodomy (think homosexuality) is punishable by DEATH!

Can you imagine that? I happen to have some gay friends that are near and dear to my heart – I couldn’t imagine them being killed because of their sexuality.

Oh, by the way, you’re not supposed to play games with dice, or cards. That’s a huge no-no.

I just picked a couple of the most outrageous/silly. Go search for Shar’ia Law and see what you find.

What I find the most disturbing is that these would be religious laws at all…what kind of religion condones the murder of someone based on their lifestyle choice? And then the fact that the government actually enforces the laws takes it about a million miles past outrageous.

And you, and me, we’re infidels because we don’t live under this law. We should die, simply because we don’t adhere to their beliefs.

How nice.

Why do libs sympathize with Shar’ia fanatics? Oh yeah, it’s the “my enemy’s enemy is my friend” thing

FYI, homosexuality is not a “lifestyle choice”. You’re born that way.It only makes homosexual persecution even more monstrous.

Provide me proof that a person is born that way and then we can talk. Until then, it’s a lifestyle choice.~T the D

Provide me proof that a person is NOT born that way and then we can talk. Until then, it’s a sexual orientation and is part of the human condition.

T the DYou aren’t provocative. Just bigoted and ignorant.

Anon – part of the ‘human condition’? Excuse me while I laugh hysterically. So you couldn’t come up with any evidence, and you had to come back and try to place the burden of proof on me? Sad. Pamela – please, I’d gladly like for you site an instance where I said something bigoted. I’m afraid you are the igorant one in this situation – not me. Just because you don’t agree with me does not make me a bigot. Do you even know what the definition is? ~T the D

Isn’t it amazing how the libs call us bigots and racist when we have an opposing viewpoint? Such tolerance and open mindedness there. I challenge them to find another mammal that engages in same sex acts, and I will show you a species that is extinct.

T the D & Scala1/ I voted for John McCain last fall.2/ Some bonobo monkeys engage in homosexual activities. As stated by Anon, homosexuality is part of the human condition, which does not imply we must all practice it. (That's for the "extinct species" crap.)It is this kind of ignorance and bigotry which make us conservatives look like fools.

Again, Pamela, where is the bigotry? You can’t even site an example. What I have stated here is not bigoted, it simply isn’t. So you don’t know what being a bigot is…and you certainly don’t understand the concept of the human condition, yet you’re using them in an argument? And you think I’m the ignorant one? And Pamela…lots of liberals voted for McCain too…not just conservatives…so that argument holds no water. Thanks for trying though. ~T the D

<>Some bonobo monkeys engage in homosexual activities.<>That has to do with heirarchical power and positioning. It is not analagous to human behavior.Be very careful in extrapolations using the animal kingdom to try and make a defense about any human behavior. Dogs engourge themselves and food, and pigs wallow in slop to cool themselves.I’d NOT say we should forgo manners to duplicate this lifestyle based on the needs of animals and their various habits.I WILL say that even among the so called “higher” primates–and this includes liberals as well, to be fair–you’d have a hard time finding many pleasantries.Chimps are known to pop the skulls open of opposing tribes little ones and feast on their brains for breakfast. What dictates to you which is immoral or moral based on animal kingdom comparisons?Genetic roots?Even if so–so what? That’s the current socio-bio craze. But surely other factors are at work. If we as a society did not think environment had any linkage to this, we’d cease all interventions and attempts at altering all behavior and just give up. Stealing, habitual lying, drug use, murder, alcoholism, smoking, and other unpleasant or scorned, behaviors no doubt are a combo of social and genetic factors. This does not make any action justified whether its your potty training or your genes.
