First waterboarding…now bad 80’s tunes!

August 24, 2009

From a Los Angeles Times article:

While the practice of waterboarding — simulated drowning — has been banned,
the field manual directives would also end the practice of subjecting prisoners
to loud music for long periods and sleep deprivation.

As long as they’re not blasting Bonnie Tyler in their cells 24/7 I don’t see what the issue is.

Listen, if I can tolerate “Total Eclipse of the Heart” on repeat AND sleep deprivation, so can some suspected terrorists. And if someone accidentally slips a bullet into their brain too, well then so be it.

Harsh, yes. But when have I claimed to be any different?

Methinks you've seen to many episodes of 24.
No one can cope with sleep deprivation, you included.
Your statement isn't harsh, just misinformed and childish.

So, I'm supposed to care about a comment from someone who can't even take a joke?

Obviously I don't actually think that I could ever cope with sleep deprivation.

I just don't give a shit if we subject suspected terrorists to it.
